A barefoot, sober, conscious dance practice — finally in the northwest suburbs. No steps to learn. No way to do it wrong. Just you, the music, and a room full of people moving however they're moved.

What to expect
No steps. No words. Just movement.
Ecstatic dance is a sober, DJ‑led movement practice — a wave of music that carries you from gentle stillness, into wild expression, and back to rest. No partners required. No experience needed. If you can move, you can dance — even if "moving" tonight means lying on the floor and breathing.
A DJ‑led journey
From soft and grounding into wild and luminous, then back to stillness.
All bodies welcome
No experience needed. Every age, shape, and rhythm belongs on the floor.
Three soft agreements
Barefoot if you can (socks or soft shoes welcome). Wordless on the floor (words always okay for consent or care). Phones away (so we can be fully here).
Every other Sunday
Next: Sunday, November 15, 2026
We launched May 31, 2026 in Arlington Heights and we're adding suburbs as rooms and hosts come together. Every location below is selling tickets right now.

There's an ecstatic dance in Chicago every Wednesday.
Formerly known as Rhythm Sanctuary Ecstatic Dance, it's now Chicago Ecstatic Dance — same beloved Wednesday night ritual, new name. Can't wait until June? Get your feet on the floor this week.
Help us light the floor sooner
Every dollar goes to the floor: a venue with good acoustics, a sound system that lets the bass move through your bones, and DJs who know how to hold a room. $25 gets one person on the dance floor. $100 brings four friends.
